Great Idea, works okay.
Super quick install and works as expected. after connection is good. Also, I have had to reset the bluetooth more than half the time that I try to connect after starting my car. Updated down a star. This thing fails to keep a steady connection for no apparent reason. It is the rare day when I dont have to reset the connection. At this point a cable would be less of time suck.
Inconsistent connection.
About 1/3 of the time it does not connect to my phone. I have to unplug it and plug it back in or I have to disconnect the Bluetooth on my phone and repair it. This defeats the purpose of a wireless receiver. When it connects it works great!!
Terrible customer. service but mostly good product with one major annoyance
This is one of the least expensive wireless CarPlay adapters (nice!), and it connects very fast and works seamlessly most of the time. However, there is an issue that causes the beginning of audio (e.g. notification sounds, navigation prompts etc) to be cut off in the beginning which is annoying. I returned a previous adapter and even tried updating it but had no luck, and a new one has the same issue. It likely is a vehicle-specific issue (car has factory CarPlay, however). I wouldnt be so frustrated if the company actually was responsive and didnt ignore my help requests via email, Facebook and other social medias. They initially responded to a DM on Facebook briefly but then never responded back. I will likely keep the adapter since it connects very well but audio issue is annoying.
Crashes my 2022 Toyota Sienna Head unit..
Sometimes (1 in 10) I get in the car and go to back out and when I put it back in drive the head unit crashes.. It then goes through its lengthy boot process before you can use the infotainment screen. I like it for its size and its sleek for sure. If I had to do it over I would try another one, but who knows maybe they would all crash the head unit in my Sienna.
